Individual Therapy

Individual therapy, also frequently known as talk therapy, serves as a safe, neutral space for a person to work through personal issues they are experiencing. With encouragement from the therapist for self-exploration and growth, individual therapy serves as a place to instill hope and change to improve life satisfaction. Individual therapy addresses this by teaching an individual how to control or improve symptoms that contribute to and effect well-being. This is done through exploring an individual’s current situation, their thoughts, feelings and behaviors regarding this situation, how they confront or handle situations, and what they desire out of therapy. With this information a licensed therapist partners and establishes a relationship with the individual to assist them in better knowing themselves and learning skills to attain the life they want to have. A therapist assists an individual with this through challenging unhealthy thoughts, perspectives, behaviors, patterns and ways of coping. Externally, a therapist determines how life experiences and situations have contributed to current functioning. A therapist is a qualified professional with several years of education and training to pinpoint what techniques and interventions a individual needs, to achieve the best version of themselves they are seeking.

We understand that reasons for seeking individual therapy may comprise of more than self-growth, whether it be due to a unexpected life situation that may be challenging to process or overcome, increased life demands and responsibilities, making one feel like they have lost their-selves in the process. Self-care and taking time to process unpleasant experiences or feelings can be difficult in this day an age. The benefits of therapy, is that for less than a hour a week or every other week an individual can dedicate some self-care for themselves, and save time in the long run by getting to the bottom of barriers or concerns that hinder well-being and figuring out ways to resolve this.

Our specialties are anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss/trauma, and ADD.

My sessions are 53 minutes, and with tele-health, early morning and late afternoon appointments, you should be able to find a convenient hassle free time for you.
